Crocheted Bead Bracelets and Set

It's been hectic at work and home lately.

These little babies keep me sane at times.

A bonus that my daughter appreciates them and managed to get orders from friends too!

I did some other patterns and color combinations on the beads that I have. I haven't photographed all of them.

Here are some:

A set for Mary. Custom lengths too!

  

This one is my favorite. It proved popular amongst my friends too. I made a long chain to create a focal point in the middle. I'm going to put a knot in it! But as these things go, I made the ones for friends first before I  finish mine. 

This one is custom made for Faye.

Mary liked it too but I ran out of beads so until then, off to finish the other orders.

DIT Crocheted Rope Bracelet

Another one of my crochet rope bracelet.

It's made using slate grey and clear silver lined bead.

Pattern is 1a1b, rounds of 6.

It's quite pretty if I may say so myself!

Crochet Seed Bead Rope Bracelet with my Favorite Stack

On this bracelet, I used a size 8 seed bead in aqua with a silver lining. It's a row of 6 and about 4.5 inches in length.

I added a bead cap, gem and silver tone spacers, crystals and a pearl.

And here it is with my diy pearls and crystal bracelet and Tiffany silver bead bracelet. I have used this stack on literally anything I have worn and got so many lovely comments about them. 

They are so cute and simple to make. Because of the size of the seed beads, you can easily whip the crochet bead rope in an hour or so depending on how quick you are with those hooks! ;-)

Cross Stitched Family Portrait DIY

My cross stitched family portrait took me longer than expected to do. I was a very keen cross stitcher when I finished university. I used to do it all night! Maybe that's why I thought a teeny tiny one would be a breeze and maybe take me an hour or two to complete. But no. Sadly, drawing it took an hour already. But how it turned out was quite surprisingly pleasing and adorable. Apart from maybe changing the color of the Aida cloth to show that Skips (our white female Maine Coon) is actually present, I think it turned out pretty nice.

Here's the drawing I made of the pattern. A few inspirations from Martha Stewart came in handy. I had to revise the pattern for Ashley and I. She's taller than me now and we both have long hair. The only distinction between her and me in the pattern was that I am on a dress. But anyone can get that mixed up. So to show the true depiction of our family, I made her taller than me in our cross stitched family portrait and gave her a plaited hair! 💁

I added a few seed beads and a lot back stitches later....

Ta dah! What do you think? It looks cute. I placed it in a frame. I still have to figure out how to frame it properly but for now, it's sitting nice and proud in our hallway where everyone can see it.

DIY Dangling Seed Bead Earrings

I like these earrings. A lot. They're simple and understated. 

I made them using emerald green size 11 seed beads, open gold tone jump rings and made my own earring hooks using gold wire.

It took maybe up to an hour to make it. Depends how fast you can put on those tiny seed beads in!

My son Ethan will probably not be impressed if he saw me put it on his bear as my model. It just shows off the color better I thought.

DIY Crochet Rope Bead Bracelet 2

I had an obsession about these rope beads as you can see. I bought lots and lots of seed beads hoping to make one for every girlfriend I have or just to make them to satisfy my need to craft. Threading them though is a tad fiddly. My cats thought it was playtime every time I thread them. What with all those shiny things and strings! 😊

I used size 11 seed beads. I have pinned a few inspirations and patterns in Pinterest. I want to make them all!

This particular one is very girly and made for Ashley. Pink, pearls, pink quartz and a shiny shamballa and it's done! I sometimes make 2 slightly different but fairly identical so Ashley and I can do an  arm candy tandem. 😉

Vintage Chanel Necklace DIY Tutorial

I got my first ever comment the other day from Carolina of ArtistSpirit requesting the tutorial for the Vintage Chanel Necklace worn by Caroline Channing of 2 Broke Girls!

And as promised, if you'd like to know how I did it, I said I'll write it up and so here it is!

Materials:

20x 16mm white pearls

20x 14mm white pearls

2x 4mm white pearls

Gold curb chain:

1x 16 inches (adjust as needed)

1x 8inches

1x extension chain (if you feel you'll need it to adjust the drop)

20 x 20mm headpins 

20 x gold seed beeds (I only have a really thin set of headpins and the pearls has 1mm hole so had to use this to stop it from falling through)

20 x gold bead spacer

20 x 40mm long 0.8mm gold wire 

Jumprings

Lobster clasp

Tools:

Wire cutters

Round end pliers

Pliers

Insert the seed bead and bead spacer in the head pin followed by the 14mm pearls then make a small loop at the end

 With the 40mm wire, make a small loop at one end, insert the 16mm pearls and make another bigger loop at the end and it should look like this. Make sure your bigger loop will actually fit in the chain you'll be using.

 Connect the 2 pearls you've put together by attaching them through the loops you've made. This is how it should look like

 Assemble your chain. Attach the 8inch chain to the 16 inch chain using jumprings. Make sure they're in the middle with a bit of slack. The top pearls will be going on top of each other if there's no slack. So it should look like this:

 Attach your dangling pearls spreading them evenly through out the chain.

Attach your lobster clasp using a jump ring at one end of the chain.

I've put several jump rings at the end so it could adjust the drop a little bit higher or lower depending on the need. I've also put 2 little pearls at the end so it looks a bit more finished. :)

My model Ashley patiently sat and waited while I put on the pearls all the while making her appreciative comments on how pretty it was becoming.

Adjust the spread accordingly. I had 2-3 links in between the pearls

And hopefully you'll get this:
