DIY J Crew Inspired Statement Necklace

First and foremost, I'd like to start by making excuses by saying how sorry I am for not being able to post for awhile!
I like sharing new things with people, new ideas, different outlooks, genius designs.
I saw this DIY at Owls Wake Up and thought it's pretty cool.

This one's J Crew's necklace.

This one is Beth's at Owls Wake Up.

And this is mine!

There are lots of photos to instruct you to put it together at Owlswakeup. I tried to look for the exact size of the bead but couldn't so I played a bit with how small or tight I made my jump rings and pins.
Mine is at least a third smaller than hers but I like how it turned out. :-)
It took me not too long either once I got all my things together.
So, give it a go!

Snowflake Crystal Earring DIY

Now that the snow has started falling in England, I found the crystal snowflake I have been looking for since last December! How weird is that?
And now that I have found it, I've decided to make something out of it before I misplace it again somewhere where it's going to hide from me all summer!

This is what I made:

Do you like it?

It's very simple to make.
I wire-wrapped the crystal and added it directly to my pre made earring hook.

What inspired you today?

Emerald Statement Bracelet DIY!

I love emerald.
Not just because it's my birth stone.
I love green especially the bright shades.

So I made this!

So although this isn't the real thing, this color and gem is lovely!

Don't you agree?

It's a simple construction but if you need help, just let me know!

I added a small round bead at the end just to finish it off.

Have a great Easter everyone!

Granny Square Top!

Now who doesn't think this top is adorable?

It's looks hip and retro but each to their own right?
It could be updated by changing the colors and I'm thinking it would be a breeze to make!
So if you're interested, here's the diagram.

Granny Cactus Flower Cactus Flower

I'm on grannies craze at the moment.
Can you tell?
I didn't know when it was going to hit me but they are so pretty and can be mixed and matched for what you want it to be.
I saw this granny square and thought I'd have to share it.

I hope you all agree it's a pretty thing.
I found this lovely creation at Bigu Handmade with a full tutorial with photos to help you along!

Kata - free crochet square pattern

I haven't really had a chance to get back to my normal "roll".
Juggling night shifts in the hospital and school runs and the never ending chores that presents itself just when I thought I'll be able to sit down and have a quiet time with my wips.
But life hasn't stopped me browsing for more projects to do in the future!

Today I found Kata.

The endless possibilities. Afghan, pillow cover, bag, coaster and so on and so forth.
I can't wait to try this.
I hope you make something beautiful out of it.

Philippines Vacation Officially Over!

Hi everyone! I apologize for having been MIA for the last 5 weeks.
I will be showing you why.

See, I couldn't resist her. She made me do it. :-)

These are a few of the hundreds of photos I've taken whilst out in the Philippines.
My family can't have enough of the sunshine and the blue skies.
I meant it when I said I was sorry but these photos makes the regret bearable ;-)

I can't say I missed the winter weather here but I missed my crochet!
I didn't bother bringing out any with me as I fully intended to be mostly horizontal whilst out there basking and refilling my vitamin D supplies!

I'm hoping to be back to my normal swing of things very soon so please join me in exploring the joys of my life with my family, my kids, my crochet and all the rest that makes me feel very blessed!

Hope you have enough...

Tulip Stitch Dish Cloth

I have missed doing something here for a few days with family and work and
getting prepared to go to the Philippines!
So I might miss a few days while we're out on a holiday for a month but will definitely
catch up with lots of photos!

Anyway, I found this dish cloth and I thought it was adorable.
For a quick gift, for a lapghan or proper afghan.
In a few colors or a colorful one, your choice.

Jennifer of Two Butterflies found this free pattern from Toni from Foothills.

I think I'll be making a few of these while I'm out there... in the sands...
Very happy thoughts..
See you all soon!

Updates and a Free Whispers Crochet Jacket Pattern

Snow has stopped falling and the schools were reopened today! Hurray!
I'm halfway my motif top.
Whoop!

As you all know, I'm not very fluent with knitting and I found this bargain and funky badger novelty hat!
Ethan absolutely loves it

and I had to put it on for size ;)

Now, with the gloomy weather outside, my beautiful tulips are coming out.

They are slowly but surely on their way out.
There's another dozen to say hi!

Browsing through the enormous free pattern out there, I found this adorable jacket by Drops Design.

I think it looks very delicate and girly and country-ish chic..
But until I have finished with my current wip's, I'm restraining myself.

Oh, and hopefully, we'll have a new addition to our family soon!
Watch this space! ;)

Bartlett Car Coat Free Pattern

Baby cardigan pattern by Robyn Chachula which has a free pattern which you can find here. Petite Purls has very cute free patterns contributed by different people who crochets and knits.
Isn't this cardigan adorable? And I'm impartial to purple so this caught my eye.

I hope you enjoy making your cardigan and wrapping your baby warm with it!
